Spelling & Thesaurus

In this section you'll find information on how to configure your spelling engine for use with your application. With this you'll be able to setup your dictionaries, edit them, and create additional dictionaries.

The first thing to know is that there are two dictionary types used with the spelling engine:

Language Dictionaries - These dictionaries are generally used to represent the set of correctly spelled words for a particular language or field. They contain only correctly spelled words and are not modified while checking spelling.

Custom Dictionaries - These dictionaries typically represent a supplement to a language dictionary. They can be actively modified while checking spelling and can represent correctly spelled words that have been 'Added' to the dictionary, auto-corrections, and forbidden words.

Generally a data field is set to auto-correct by default. It is also possible, however, to select spelling and thesaurus actions form the main Spell menu
