Entering Bridge Saw Logs

Once processing of the slab is complete and the bridge saw log is returned it is necessary to enter the Billets that have been created from this process.

Select Schedule|Enter Bridge/Wire Log Items from the main menu or from the slab view to open the log form. Select the log in the list for which processing has been completed, and enter billets from the log in the right hand panel of the form. Select the schedule and billet ID from drop downs in the grid and the billet dimensions. The billet volume and the total processing volume is calculated when the enter key is pressed.

A comparison of the slab volume and the total billet volumes is made before submission of the log items and a warning is announced if the total billet volume exceeds the slab volume.

Submitting these log items carries out the following actions:

Creates the billets in the billet listing for the slab being processed,

Enters appropriate transactions for the slab and the billets in their respective transaction lists, and most importantly,

Creates a link between the processed billet and the Production Schedule line item that allows the user to see/audit the progress of schedule item processing from the Production Schedules view.

It is necessary to select the saw source from the radio button group and the desired To Slab or To Billets output.

Once the items are submitted, the orange marker flag against the slab is removed, and the slab is no longer visible in the log items listing.
