The Quantity calc sheet is access via the popup menu on the Item list or via the Alt-Q key combination from a selected item.

When first created, quantity sheets bring the quantity from the item above down to the first line of the quantity calcl sheet. This line is annotated with 'From above' to signify its origin.

From that point, the quantities can be calculated by adding up lengths (placing numbers in the Length column), or by placing numbers into any combination of the Factor, Length, Width and Height columns to effect a calculation.

Length takes precedence. You must have a length before you can factor width and you must have a width before you can factor a height.

Each line is calculated and summed to teh bottom right corner of the sheet.

The item to which the quantity relates, is also displayed above the calc sheet line items and upon re-calc, the quantity total is updated in this item.

Rounding of the quantity calculation abides by the Australian Standard Method of Measurement of Building Works where all whole quantities are rounded up from any partial quantity (i.e. not 0,50 up only).

It is also possible to post the exact quantity to 3 decimal places as is required for calculations of tonnage of structural steel and steel reinforcement.
